📖 How to Play

How does the game work?
  1. Ms. Gina gives a clue: the name of a state capital.
  2. She's hidden somewhere inside that state on the map — you have to spot her, not just click anywhere in the state.
  3. Scan the map, find her small icon, and click directly on her.
  4. Get it right, and a card pops up with the state name, its capital, and a quick fun fact.
  5. Miss, and the spot flashes red — try again until you find her.
  6. Find her in all 50 states to win!
What do the difficulty modes do?
  • 🌟 Easy (state glows): the correct state lights up faintly, narrowing the search so students focus on spotting Ms. Gina rather than first identifying the state. Good for younger grades or first-time players.
  • 🔥 Hard (map only): no highlight — students need to know the state itself before they can even start looking for her. Good for older grades or a review activity.
Switch modes any time using the buttons above the map.
I'm stuck — is there a hint?
Yes — the "👀 Give me a hint" button makes Ms. Gina pulse/wiggle briefly so she's easier to spot. Handy for younger students or when a round is taking a while.
Classroom use ideas
  • Independent practice: a quiet, self-paced activity during work time
  • Whole-class warm-up: project the map and take turns calling out capitals
  • Sub-day activity: no login or setup required — just open the page
  • State/capital review before a quiz: Hard mode works well as informal self-assessment
Does it save progress or collect any data?
No account or login is required, and no student data is collected or saved. Progress resets each time the page is refreshed or the game is restarted. It works on both desktop and tablet browsers, and it's completely free to use.
